Holiday Itinerary



DAY 1: UK - Channel crossing - Brussels.

Join your tour by travelling on our free coach service from London for your Channel crossing to the Continent, where you will be met by your tour director and transferred to Brussels for one night.


DAY 2: Brussels - Luxembourg - Basel - Lucerne.

Admire the delightful scenery as you drive through the Duchy of Luxembourg to its charming capital, also named Luxembourg, before heading south to the wine growing region of Alsace and crossing the border into Switzerland. From Basel, journey across the foothills of the Alps to the medieval town of Lucerne for one night. (B)


DAY 3: Lucerne - Innsbruck area.

This morning, admire the beauty of Lucerne and perhaps join the optional excursion to Mount Stanserhorn before driving through the tiny principality of Liechtenstein and continuing into Austria. Pass the charming picture-postcard villages of the Voralberg and drive through the Arlberg Tunnel into the scenic splendour of the Inn Valley. Reaching Innsbruck, for one night in the area, enjoy a visit to the city's famed Golden Roof. (B, D)


DAY 4: Innsbruck area - Venice.

Depart early and journey by way of the spectacular Europa Bridge to Venice, a unique city on the water ribboned with canals. This afternoon, enjoy an included canal boat-ride, followed by a city orientation trip and a chance to watch Venetian glass blowers fashion their delicate objects just as they did centuries ago, at a typical glass blowing factory. One night in the Venice area. (B, D)


DAY 5: Venice area - Adriatic Coast - Assisi - Rome.

Drive across the Po Delta and skirt the Adriatic coast before crossing the Apennines en route to historic Assisi, the birthplace of the mystical St Francis, where you can marvel at the magnificent Basilica before continuing to one of the world's greatest cities, Rome, for two nights. (B)


DAY 6: Rome.

Rome, the 'Eternal City', is a city steeped in history, vibrantly alive and absolutely unique. Today's included sightseeing trip with a local guide starts in St Peter's Square, followed by a visit to the Roman Forum and the mighty Colosseum. (B)


DAY 7: Rome - Florence area.

Enjoy a morning drive along the 'motorway of the sun' to the beautiful Renaissance city of Florence. Traffic is partly banned in the historic centre so visitors can wander at leisure and admire the city's timeless beauty. Enjoy the included city sightseeing walk with a local guide and visit one of Florence's bargain leather shops. One night in the Florence area. (B)


DAY 8: Florence area - Pisa - French Riviera.

Journey to Pisa and stop to admire the legendary Leaning Tower and the Square of Miracles before travelling by way of Genoa and the Italian Riviera to the French border. Passing into France, enjoy a stop in the traditional town of Eze to visit one of its perfume workshops before heading to the French Riviera for one night in the area. (B)


DAY 9: French Riviera - Lyon area.

Spend a morning relaxing on the blissful Mediterranean coast. This afternoon, journey across wonderful Provencal landscapes and through the rich vineyards of the beautiful Rhône Valley to Lyon, for one night in the area. (B, D)


DAY 10: Lyon area - Beaune - Paris.

Marvel at the beauty of the Burgundy region as you pass lush vineyards and sun-kissed meadows en route to Beaune. Stop awhile in this medieval town, renowned for its wine production, before heading to Paris for two nights. This evening, why not attend the optional cabaret show? (B)


DAY 11: Paris.

Enjoy a day to get a feel for this magnificent city - renowned throughout the world for its fashion, art and museums, delicious food and general 'joie de vivre'. Today's included sightseeing trip with a local guide takes in many of the best-known Parisian sights: Boulevard St Germain, Eiffel Tower, Opéra, Champs Elysées and the Rue de Rivoli to name just a few. (B)


DAY 12: Paris - Channel crossing - UK.

Say farewell to Paris and head to the Channel port where your tour ends. After a short Channel crossing, join your coach service to London. (B)
